AT&T has certified the NetComm Wireless 4G Wi-Fi M2M Router (NTC-140W-01) for deployment in the United States for machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications. The industrial-grade NTC-140W-01 brings AT&T’s 4G LTE network to market segments that manage large amounts of data from digital displays, smart buildings, remote healthcare, emergency response, business back-up and other bandwidth-intensive M2M applications.
Designed to enhance connectivity and remote communication, the NTC-140W-01 supports high data rates and provides a significant speed and reliability advantage to devices, machines and other assets on AT&T’s expansive 4G LTE network. The NTC-140W-01 features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and high-speed Wi-Fi along with vehicle voltage support, GPS and ignition input for mobile assets.
The device ensures reliable connectivity to time critical systems, tele-health services and disaster recovery applications with automatic failover to 3G when outside of 4G coverage areas, and instant fall-back to 4G when the Gigabit Ethernet ports are used as an alternate Internet connection. The built-in VPN clients also ensure a secure connection over public mobile networks.
The processor, which has an embedded NetComm Linux OS and Software Development Kit, enables the installation of custom software applications to the onboard memory. Its polycarbonate and rubber enclosure is mountable, designed for rugged deployments and also features temperature tolerances that allow the NTC-140W-01 to be used for remote and industrial environments. www.netcommwireless.com
