December 20, 2016 — Oldcastle Precast has acquired the assets of Cell Blocks, a provider of precast concrete foundations for cellular towers and other utility equipment.
Cell Blocks post tensioned foundation systems have been used by all major U.S. wireless carriers including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
The acquisition complements Oldcastle Precast’s product offering and further enhances the company’s ability to serve the demand from all major carriers as they continue to build out wireless infrastructure.
“We are excited to build on our strategy to provide a comprehensive line of innovative solutions to telecommunications infrastructure projects nationwide,” said Dave Wadlington, Oldcastle Precast national sales president. “This acquisition will complement Oldcastle Precast’s line of telecommunication shelters and other wireless infrastructure solutions”
Phil Colflesh, P.E., technical project consultant for Cell Blocks, brings years of telecommunications industry experience and will lead the effort to integrate the Cell Block system into the Oldcastle Precast national product offering.
“We are excited to join the Oldcastle family, we have enjoyed a long standing relationship with Oldcastle as our primary manufacturer and our combined forces will simplify construction for our key customers,” Colflesh said.
Former owners of Cell Blocks, James Fey and Richard Erich will be retained as part of the team and will play a role in the transition.
