Sept. 10-James Allen Gatlin, 24, and Christopher Neal Tallman, 32, are both listed in good condition. That is the miraculous news about the tower climbers who fell 30 feet from a cell site in Archer City, Texas, according to KFDX Fox Channel 3.
Tallman suffered a fractured back, ruptured spleen and cuts to an arm. Gatlin’s injuries were simply described as extensive.
The two men were climbing down the 80-foot tower at the end of the day when a safety line came loose, causing them to fall from 30 to 35 feet. They were conscious and talking after incident and were quickly picked up and flown by separate helicopters to a local hospital, according to Archer County Sheriff Staci Williams Beesinger.
“I’m just thankful that they had gotten that far down the tower before it did break and they fell because if would have been much higher it certainly would have been a bad ole deal,” Beesinger said on KFDX.
