Colony Capital will change its name to DigitalBridge Group on June 22. Shares in the company will begin trading under a new stock ticker symbol, DBRG, at that time. Digital Colony, the company’s digital infrastructure investment platform, also will use the DigitalBridge name.
The new name reflects a business transformation the company has undergone since its leadership and board of directors decided years go to chart a new direction, realigning a diversified real estate investment firm to focus on digital infrastructure. The name DigitalBridge reestablishes and renews the original Digital Bridge, a company that combined with Colony Capital in 2019, according to a company statement. The statement said that the name evokes the company’s heritage as an early innovator in digital infrastructure, while anticipating a digital, interconnected future.
“We are poised to build, operate and finance a new era in connectivity, using a single platform focused on the full spectrum of digital infrastructure including towers, data centers, fiber and small cells,” said Marc Ganzi, president and CEO of Colony Capital and CEO of Digital Colony.
More information about strategy and rebranding, including a new logo, will be disclosed at DigitalBridge Group’s inaugural Investor Day, to be held on June 22, the company statement reads.
