After closing on its acquisition of Tower Cloud last week for $185 million, Communications Sales & Leasing (CS&L) announced yesterday at the Tower and Small Cell Summit that it has merged Tower Cloud with its other purchase, PEG Bandwidth, to form Uniti Fiber.
Ron Mudry, founder and president of Tower Cloud, was named president of Uniti Fiber.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of CS&L, Uniti Fiber will provide infrastructure solutions, including cell site backhaul and small cell for wireless operators, and Ethernet, wavelengths and dark fiber for telecom carriers and enterprises.
Uniti Fiber’s infrastructure spans 590,000 fiber strand miles and connects over 5,200 customer locations with local access to 2,600 municipalities and dozens of utilities. The firm’s infrastructure spans the Southeast, Texas, the Northeast and Upper Midwest.
CS&L purchased PEG in January for $409 million.
