Agenda

What does 5G Mean to Your Business?
While 4G is still prevalent, 2020 has become the year that 5G has developed a foothold in wireless infrastructure. From small cells to macrotowers, network buildouts are changing. This session covers what 5G is and how it will and must change the way you do business in the wireless infrastructure industry. Are you in the game?
Panel:
Joe Madden (MOD),
Mobile-Experts
Michael Clementi,
Valmont Site Pro 1
Kashif Hussain,
VIAVI Solutions
Case Study: Houston, We Have a Solution
Our North American tier-one carrier customer challenged us to design an integrated small-cell pole with very strict foundation and pole diameter requirements. For Raycap, it wasn’t rocket science, it’s what we do every day for 5G deployments.
Speaker:

Opening the RAN to Opportunity
Open Radio Access Networks (O-RANs) are beginning to take off. Nokia has become the first global RAN supplier fully committed to O-RANs. Rakuten Mobile and Dish Network are paving the way to the open 5G RANs. Who will be the next to pick up on this trend? How do O-RANs work? What does this mean to 5G? Where will open RANs take hold and where will close proprietary networks hold out?

Tech Brief — Using Field Operations Software to accelerate the deployment of 5G
A recent CTIA report estimated that wireless operators will deploy roughly 800,000 small cells by 2026, a 550 percent increase over the 86,000 that exist today. However, wireless construction is still mostly dependent on manual processes and fragmented IT solutions, which limits the speed of 5G deployment. This Tech Brief will describe how Field Operations Software can help accelerate the installation of small cells with enhanced planning tools, real-time updates on project progress and spend, and automated workflows improve remote team collaboration.
Speaker:
Rob Tymchyshyn,

IAB and Satellites: Changing the Paradigms in Backhaul
When LTE was introduced, fiber optics were said to be the only backhaul option. But today, new options are appearing in the backhaul segment. Carriers are now toying with the idea of wirelessly backhauling signals using 5G spectrum in addition to fiber. Integrated Access Backhaul technology sends back signals wirelessly when time is of the essence or economics do not favor fiber. Ligado Networks is building a hybrid satellite/terrestrial network to backhaul 5G IoT data. The global mobile and wireless backhaul market was valued at $20.34 billion in 2016 and is projected to reach $63.69 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 13.52 percent from 2017 to 2025, according to Kenneth Research. Find out what’s new in backhaul and how it can help your bottom line.

5G Goes Industrial
Multinational business consulting firm Accenture and AT&T are developing a private industrial cellular network for Phillips 66. Verizon Business and IBM have combined their technologies to make mobile edge computing possible. Verizon teams with Microsoft to create and deploy complete end-to-end IoT solutions. See a pattern? From this session, you will learn how the concept known as fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, is becoming real.
