Designed for fill-in macro coverage and densification applications, the Galtronics GP2408-06789 offers4x4 MIMO coverage for 617-896MHz lowband and 4×4 MIMO coverage for 1695-2690MHz midband with average 65° horizontal beam widths for all bands. The GP2408-06789 is fully 600MHz 5G capable.
The GP2408-06789 offers impressive average per port gain specifications of 8.2dBi lowband and 13.8dBi midband. Port to port isolation is specified at 20dB, with return loss specified at 14dB for all ports. Front-to-back ratio (180°) is specified at 28dB minimum in lowband and 25dB minimum in midband. RF power handling is specified at 100 watts maximum per port. Passive Intermodulation (PIM) is specified as -153dBc maximum for all ports tested with 2x20W carriers applied.
An impressive feature of the GP2408-06789 is that it provides 2-12° Mechanical Electrical Tilt (MET) for all four midband 1695-2690MHz ports simultaneously with one simple adjustment knob (located center top of image at right). This allows customers to dial in the narrower vertical beam midband coverage to match lowband 617-896MHz coverage.
The GP2408-06789is specified to operate over a wide -40° to +70°C temperature range, and is IP65 rated environmentally to allow both indoor or outdoor operation. Product dimensions are 24.7” (626mm) high x 15.0” (380mm) wide x 7.2” (184mm) deep, with weight specified at 31lbs (14kg). Connectors (8x) are 4.3/10-F type. The GP2410-06636antenna is configured in gray color and comes standard with MK-06853 mounting bracket (GP2410-06636-112), however optional 62-45-09 mounting bracket can be ordered to be used with either horizontal or vertical poles and offers a wide range of verical and horizontal axis adjustment. The GP2408-06789 antenna, MK-06853 and 62-45-09 mounting brackets are all rated rated to survive 150mph (241 km/h) wind speeds for outdoor applications.
The design of the product allows for installation in small “fill-in” coverage areas to augment primary macro coverage, or for small cell/densification applications. The product was purposely designed to be low profile, occupying <10” (253mm) of depth when installed against a wall using the standard MK-06853 mounting bracket. Having separate ports for lowband and midband allows either single 4×4 vcapable radios to be connectoed, or even 2 each 2×2 radios in lowband, and 2 each 2×2 radios in midband. And example would be 2×2 600MHz and 700MHz radios connected to 4 ports in lowband and 2×2 AWS and PCS radios connected to 4 ports in midband.
