Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) has developed an LTE small cell radio transceiver that is complementary with the Cavium integrated LTE small-cell processors. AKM RF transceiver products enable LTE small cell manufacturers to provide mobile operators with adequate performance within low-power budgets.
The AKM AK1589 is an FDD-LTE/TD-LTE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA single-chip RF transceiver, which provides ultra-low power consumption, 800 mW at 10 MHz bandwidth and 1 W at 20 MHz bandwidth, with 2Tx2Rx MIMO. It offers single-ended transmitter outputs and independent sniffer ports permitting users to simplify the front end design. In addition, the AK1589 can also support TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE applications
The AKM AK1587 is an FDD-LTE-A/TD-LTE-A/FDD-LTE/TDD-LTE/WCDMA RF transceiver providing a highly integrated solution of 4Tx4Rx MIMO or two carrier aggregation (CA) channels in a single chip. Also included on-chip are two built-in TX and RX LO blocks. A single AK1587 chip can support 2×2 MIMO configurations for inter-band CA, intra-band non-contiguous CA, intra-band contiguous CA, LTE/WCDMA dual mode, or 4×4 MIMO configurations for single carrier component. www.cavium.com www.akm.com
