Mindspeed Technologies revealed that its suite of products supports the new Small Cell Forum (SCF) Release Program and Release v1.0, which includes the latest information on all types of small cells, but focuses on residential femtocells. It’s aimed at operators who’ve waited to deploy until the market and technology were proven. Release v1.0 provides all the business case and technical detail, including recommended equipment specifications for RFPs, with best practices from the operators, which have successfully deployed femtocells in scale. It also contains information aimed at assisting new enterprise, metro and rural deployments.
Mindspeed’s products comply with SCF v1.0, including support for Iuh, TR-196, SCAPI, interoperability guidelines and technical standards. The company’s small-cell SoC portfolio has 34 LTE small-cell design engagements and is one of the first small-cell SoC companies to have LTE systems commercially deployed.
