October 1, 2015 — mWAVE Industries, a provider of custom and commercial microwave antennas, has acquired the assets and intellectual property rights of the Gabriel and Mark Grid microwave antenna brands from Skyware Technologies.
With the acquisition, the Gabriel products have come full-circle. The active principals of mWAVE are all ex-Gabriel employees — Peter Farnum, Christopher Mosher and Michael Cahill — who stayed in Maine instead of following the company when it moved to North Carolina in 2003.
General Dynamics SATCOM most recently manufactured the Gabriel and Mark Antenna brands in Newton, North Carolina.
“Bringing the products, capabilities and manufacturing back to Maine is a great win for mWAVE and the State of Maine,” said Cahill, vice president of business development and sales.
The Gabriel product line consists of directional parabolic and flat panel antennas, including the 6-foot QuickFire unlicensed 5-GHz antenna. The Mark Grid Antenna brand of parabolic grid product is used by the public safety, broadcast, utility and pipeline markets.
“Initially, we see an opportunity to service the existing QuickFire antennas. We are ready to repair and replace parts on existing Gabriel and Mark Grid antennas,” Cahill said.
mWAVE is in the process of setting up production of the two antenna lines, including spare parts at its Windham, Maine, facility and expects customer shipments to begin in the four quarter.
