September 17, 2015 — The tower worker who was injured in a fall in Summit County, West Virginia, Sept. 11, actually fell from the top of the equipment shed, not from the tower as was originally stated in press accounts, Steve McIntire, assistant chief of operations for Harrison EMS, told AGL Link.
The man was treated for a possible concussion and taken by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The incident was less severe than originally reported, but it was a reminder of two tower workers and a volunteer from Nutter Fort Fire Department who died on the same site when two cell towers collapsed early in 2014.
